Ananda Yoga for Higher Awareness
With over 30 years experience in training yoga instructors, Ananda is now offering Yoga Teacher Training in Seattle. Designed for aspiring teachers and serious students, this 200-hour program teaches the basic Hatha postures (asanas) with a focus on:
- breath awareness (pranayama)
- the movements of subtle energy (prana)
- affirmations for the specific attitudes of higher awareness embodied in each asana
- correct and safe alignment
- advanced variations as well as modifications to accomodate individual needs.
Willow Kushler & Murali Venkatrao Feel the depth and breadth of Ananda Yoga by tuning into the inner experience of asanas. Learn ways to help you to teach "from the heart," and change lives by making yoga accessible and meaningful for all. A strong foundation in yoga philosophy, including Raja Yoga and the yogic lifestyle, forms an integral part of the training. Come and explore the joy of yoga!

Live-in opportunities at the nearby Ananda Community are an additional option as space permits for eligible students.
Teacher training courses, whether taken stand alone or part of the Institute curriculum, include personal and group practice, study and related course work, service activities, and personalized guidance from Institute staff.
